Happy 5 month Birthday Gavin!

I cant believe its almost half a year we have had this little man in our lives!  October 21st, 5 months ago he turned our lives upside down for the better.  We love this little chunky guy so much and I know Bradley is all the better for him too.  I asked him the other day if Gavin has always been with us or if he remembers it just being him.  He replied  “Gavin’s always been here mommy!”  Isn’t that so sweet and yet it really puts it into perspective how much he loves his brother and is so much part of our lives.  Also all the baby pictures he sees in the house that have always been there of him he says are Gavin.  Its like Bradley was never a baby.  Gavin is our baby! What a perfect baby he is.  Besides me not sleeping great still at night he is a piece of cake, full of laughter and love, a big smile, eyes that light up our world, dimples to die for and the red hair that just stops everyone in their tracks.  Gavin is growing wonderfully.  He rolls over all the time, holds his own bottle if he’s given one, jumps out of his bumbo seat, cant get enough food the little porky pig and he weighs 17 pounds.  So, we love you Gavin, our #1 second son! Happy 5 months today!

An Update on our Stinkers!!

The past few days have been fun and busy.  After Chase was born and Sophia went to meet him Saturday for the first time we had some friends over for dinner that night and we stayed up late and missed Sunday church due to springing forward.  I wasn’t planning on it because growing up I don't think I ever made church that Sunday because my MOM would always forget, thanks MOM, I do now too! Here are a few pictures that highlight our weekend.

Saturday morning Bradley brought Brad all of these toys into bed.  He kept saying, “here daddy, you want my noculars, you want my shark?” Brad played along and 10 toys later we finally got UP from bed!

Then Saturday morning since we were having friends over I sent Brad to the store.  While I wrote the grocery list Bradley wanted me to write one for him too.  this is what he requested…..grapes, salad, swords, monster helmets, lunch meat, bread for a samwich, and a new truck since Daddy broke his.

Then he played Knights and Dragons on Saturday….

Then on Sunday after missing church we went and grabbed burgers, fries and what else??! Chocolate Milkshakes,Daddy is such a sucker and he is getting so spoiled.  Did I mention he is lean as ever but SOLID and weighs 36 pounds! Anyways, we took our food to the park and Bradley played for a bit on the swing, slides, etc, then we were about to go for a walk and Brad and I were just talking and we noticed all the parents were looking over at us.  We looked down and there was Bradley with his “pecker” out peeing in the middle of the park! we quickly scolded him but had to laugh! Bradley, you cant just whip it out wherever you want!! The path we took for our walk took us in front of the local Fire station and Bradley stopped in front of it in awe…as he was a truck was pulling in, the garage door opened and a fireman asked him if he wanted to check out the truck! So, our walk turned into Bradley's very own fire truck tour.  He got to sit in the driver seat and in the back with all the gear.  I, of course, did not have my camera (left it in the car) but this is they hat hey gave him! Junior Firefighter…Too COOL!

Then hanging out at the house on Monday after Brad was home from work and we took this picture of Gavin in Daddy’s hat! They both love their Daddy and will grow up being so proud of him! Gavin is on the right and Bradley is on the left, both 4 months old.  They both make cute 4 month old babies! I love it!

Lastly, I leave you with Gavin, while in this picture he looks great, however, Monday we took him to the doctors and he has conjunctivitis in his eye.  The left eye is the worst but I have been putting drops in both eyes.  I have gotten it a little too in my eye so I have been using his drops but this just shows how I cant stay away from kissing him! He is still as smiley as ever but it makes me sad that this is his first time being sick since he's been born.  I have come to learn more over the past few weeks than ever a simple lesson.  Its a lesson in life but more so I feel with my 2 boys…Expect the UNexpected! Happy St. Patty’s Day everyone!

Chase Is Here!

Our dear and closest friends just welcomed their second baby to the world today.  Chase Michael Salvog arrived March 12, 2010 at 12:10 am weighing in at

6lbs 12 oz.  This is Sophia’s new baby brother! We were excited to watch Sophia and help during this special time in their lives as they became a family of four.  I also got to go visit Liz and Chase tonight in the hospital.  They are both doing perfect.  Liz just bounced right back to her perky self and Chase is so cute and tiny.  Literally, I have never seen a pinky toe that tiny in my life! Here are some pictures of the past two days.  Waiting for Chase Sophia and Bradley had no problem passing the time and of course Chase.  Happy Birthday little one! We are so excited to watch you grow and so happy for your mommy, daddy and big sister!

A taste of Spring

Yesterday was a beautiful day here and we took advantage of it and enjoyed the sunshine.  When I got home from picking Bradley up from preschool we played outside.  I pushed him and Gavin on the swing.  It was Gavin's first time and he was totally CHILL! Bradley even stepped up as big brother and pushed him too.  I loved it because I was able to be inside and he was playing on the back porch and running all around the backyard exploring! He was shooting the bears with his “pow-pow” which was sticks he would find…….

Then he had this one particular pine tree branch that he peeled the outside layer off in pieces and then kept putting it back together.

He was determined to get all the pieces to fit back together like a puzzle onto the base of the branch.  So technical this one! Our little Engineer and gatherer! Then when Daddy came home after his nap it was off to the dirt bike races on their vroom vrooms.  Bradley loves riding alongside his Daddy.  I told Brad I was going to title this one YOU might be a REdNeck if you……. go dirtbike riding in your friendly neighborhood fenced in backyard with your son on his power wheel!  These two are a mess.  oh, well…I may not ever understand it, but this is the life of boys!

Today the weather was not as nice and we are just hanging out waiting for Daddy to get home from work!

Where the Wild Things Are…There’s one in all of us!

So I noticed that this movie was out to rent with our cable company. We can just order them on our TV instead of going to blockbuster. This concept I love but it is also super sneaky because sometimes when we get our bill we didn’t realize how many movies we had rented that month! Oh, well, this is one area of finances Brad doesn't mind because he is a Movie Buff or whatever you call them. So, for a while now we have realized Bradley is a perfect age to take to the movies and sit the whole time and just LOVE it and get popcorn and all the good stuff. But….there's a catch….once we realized this, there hasn't been any good movies in the theatre to take him too. So we normally have movie night for Brad and I after he’s in bed but we have since created his movie night. Yep, he gets to stay up late and we watch a kid-friendly movie with him. So far he has seen UP, Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs and Where the Wild Things Are this past Saturday night. He has loved all three and has wanted to watch them again. We didn't let him of course besides you can only view them 24 hours after purchasing. Anyways, here is a picture of the boys watching Saturday nights movie choice. Bradley loved the friendly monsters or “wild things.” This is one of the most beloved children's books of all times but Bradley doesn't have it yet. Now I think it will show up in his Easter basket. Brad said he read it when he was younger. After it was over Brad looked at Bradley and said “So, what's the moral of the story?” like Bradley was really going to answer….so I said “what?” and Brad told Bradley the moral was “don't run away from home because there will always be adversity and problems anywhere you go!” You know the grass isn't always greener on the other side kind of thing. Well, at least that's what we concluded from it but we very well could be wrong. Either way it was a good chance to tell Bradley never run away from home. I really hope that never happens…I remember when I was little I packed my cabbage patch suitcase and ran away to the back porch! haha! The next movie we are going to take him to the theatre. We are waiting for "how to tame your dragon" to come out. I think that is what its called. The previews looked cute and dragons are among the things he loves!

sunday fun day

This past Sunday I found a local farm that gives pony rides. Sometimes I feel like there is nothing to do in this town for the kids but alot of that has to do with now we are limited with Gavin being small. It dawned on me during my boredom that Bradley has actually never touched a pony or horse before. So, Brad and I fixed that! We went to church that day and came home and had lunch then we set off for his two o'clock private appointment for his pony ride! Sounds very important I know. It was a great experience for him. He got to go with the girl to get Miracle, the 14 year old pony from the pasture and feed her some treats. Then she got saddled up and Bradley was up and riding. I thought he looked so small in comparison and he was so cute holding his little hands on the saddle. He even told the girl to take him " out there with those horses, " he had seen some seasoned riders and he wanted to get out of the riding ring. She told Brad, "He sure is an adventurous little guy, no kid has ever asked that before." After that we got some chocolate milkshakes and went dream house exploring! Thats just where you go drive around and look at all the houses you cant afford. Ha! No, really, it puts things in perspective and we know were blessed but its nice to have something to dream towards! Here are some pictures from our day! A sunny and windy day!

The best picture of me and Gavin so far!

Bradley riding Miracle (we were joking that its a miracle shes alive)
