Snow its Saturday!

Gavins baby portraits

his name, duh!

About to go exploring!

Mommy's Loves!

The snow made it to us in NC too! It unfortunately was a wintery mix coming down. Not big fluffy snowflakes like maryland got. It was still fun enough to go out in. Gavin and I just ventured out long enough for a picture. he wasnt having it because he was tired but bradley and brad went exploring in the woods and threw snowballs and all that snowy stuff. My favorite part was when Bradley came in freezing and i got to hold him and snuggle with him to get him warm again. After we had fun in the snow Brad had to dig my truck out of the driveway. We have a steep driveway and its gravel so you cant shovel it. So he was out there for an hour chopping two tire pathways into the gravel with a shovel so there would be some traction. No one else has problems but our driveway is not snow friendly. At least this is only the second time we have had to deal with an icy driveway. I think its awesome the boys are seeing snow. The people we bought our house from almost 4 years ago said that there was one blizzard (or what this town would call it) here like 14 years ago. So we have been able to play in it the past two years! oh, and i also finally finished Gavins room. It now feels like his bedroom to me instead of just a guest bedroom with a crib. I hung his name and i had to paint the mattes before hanging the pictures that Michelle Bolton took of him. If somethings uneven then thats OK- thats classic Emily and all the things i hang will inevitably be crooked :)

1 and 3, how similar can they be?

These are pictures of Bradley and Gavin. A picture each taken the first week of their lives and a picture each at 3 months old. They are a bit scrambled, i uploaded them out of order!
Gavin at 3 months
Bradley, week 1 (He had a jaundice tan. Our golden child)

Bradley at 3 months

Gavin, week 1

Maybe these pictures arent the best representation because when i look at Gavin on a daily basis he reminds me of when Bradley was a baby. Especially all their rolls, their baby belly's, their button noses and their double chins! They are so amazing! God is Good and I cant see how it could get any better than this joy. The awesome thing is that it most likely will. I cant wait to see all the plans god had has for our lives come to happen. I am surprised everyday and thankful!

Nana!

Nana and Gavin

wow...it has been a month and in that month alot has happened, which im not going to tell you any of it :) I think the reason i havent posted is because i get overwhelmed when i have to play "catch up". So, im not going to! this is me breaking the ice on my own blog! the woody family is here, going strong and looking forward to what has already been a great 2010! I am just going to post what i can instead of totally avoiding this blog because i dont have time to write my thoughts or post every event. heres a few pictures of the boys along with Nana's visit to our home! we love Nana! Nana is brads grandmother and it was her first visit to us, along with her husband John. Her first time meeting Gavin and only her second time spent with Bradley so as you can tell time with her is special! I really hope to be better about this blog and i totally admire the people who just rock out on this thing!

This Christmas

Last Year, Christmas In California
Then Christmas in Maryland

The merry Elf, Santa, Bradley, Gavin and Mommy

I had to stop and sit down during the tour to catch all of his spit-up

He loves smiling at mommy :)

Our Family Picture at the tree lighting that
we never saw lit b/c it was taking forever so we left.

Well, I havent posted in a while but thats not uncommon for me. I just wanted to share some more pictures and give you an update on the boys. Bradley and Gavin have both been sick for weeks now and today got officially put on an antibiotic due to their infections. So we will be up to our ears in that pink yummy miracle medicine (at least Bradley and I like it, I always loved it as a kid). Bradley and Gavin both have to take it twice a day. At the doctors today I found out that Gavin weighs almost 14 lbs and he will just be 2 months old on the 21st. Crazy! Hes so close to doubling his birth weight. Another things that crazy is all the traveling we will be doing with the kids. We are headed to Maryland the day before Christmas Eve to celebrate with my family and then flying from there to California to see Brads family after Christmas and into the New Year! We are excited to see everyone and for everyone who hasnt yet to be able to meet Gavin but we arent looking forward to all the "traveling" because lets be honest, traveling with kids just isnt fun or a walk in the park either. Before we leave we are going to celebrate Christmas here. Its Brads last day of work today before he goes on his extended "holiday" so Santa is doing an extra special visit to our house on Monday night. I am so excited to bake cookies with Bradley and set out cookies and milk for Santa with him. We also have reindeer food we are sprinkling on the lawn so they can find our house by the smell and theirs sparkles in it that light up under the moonlight. Wow, after all that you totally believe again dont you? haha! I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Just covering my basis incase I dont write again before that!

The Tree and Gavin

Bradley Helping with the Ornaments

One of his Baby Ornaments!

Christmastime is here! I love the holidays! This post is very late. I actually had the tree done Sunday after thanksgiving which are the ones of Bradley helping. He was so cute, when he woke up from his nap and saw the tree he said " Wow, Its Beautiful! Is that for me?" He now has a name for every ornament on the tree. Its so funny that he thinks they all need names. he asks me for ones hes stumped on what there name can be? This past weekend Liz and I took Bradley, Gavin and Sophia to see Santa which I will have to get the pictures from her. But Gavin was all decked out in his holiday gear for his picture! The other pictures are actually from today, My mantle with our family stockings hung by the chimney with care and Gavin sleeping so cozy and warm. This Christmas will be a special one. Its the 5th Christmas with Brad and I happily married, Bradleys 3rd and Gavins 1st! This is the first year that Bradley is able to really get into it and comprehend santa, presents, giving and most importantly baby Jesus and the real reason for the season! More Holiday cheer to come...cant wait!

Trying Santa!

His First Christmas...Intrigued...
Then...not so much...

This Year hes Cool

What a Big Boy

Thanks for the Candy Cane Santa (he ate the whole thing)!

Its official...Bradley has bought into Santa! The past two years he has not liked him and has cried and been freaked at the mysterious old man that mommy is forcing him to sit on his lap with a white beard. If you put it that way I would be freaked too! Last Christmas I dotn even think I managed to get him close enough to take his picture with him and the first year when he was 10 months old he cried at the sight of him. So, this year we "talked it up" and the conclusion was "Ok, mommy, I will try Santa" so thats exactly what we did this black friday instead of shopping! The anticipation was the best part. When he saw him he couldnt wait and was like "Is it my turn yet" when we were waiting in line. Santa picked him up on his lap and Bradley didnt answer any of his questions...he froze...except for asking "do you have a candy cane for me" and Santa did of course because the elves make those in the north pole for Santa to hand out to all the good boys and girls. Bradley told him thank you and even managed to smile for mommy to take the picture! Oh and I cant forget this because it is so random. On the way there as I was prepping him. I asked him what he wanted for Christmas? He said "I want a Gorilla, a monkey and a TREE!" So, we are going to deliver on the tree part but the other stuff will have to see if Santa works up a miracle for those! Highly doubtful! Happy Holidays Everyone! Oh and sorry there is no picture of Gavin...I knew the outcome of that would probably be crying if I woke him up. I am planning on taking Bradley one or two more times to see Santa so maybe then I will get both of them on his lap.
