Oktoberfest and Ducky’s Baby Shower

At the end of September the town puts on Oktoberfest in conjunction with Germany’s real one.  I won’t claim to know too much about it other than all the fun, music and beer but I imagine that there is some reason it is held in September.  Anyways, It was raining and Brad was sick at home eating his chicken noodle soup but we made the best of it.

Bradley had fun climbing the rock wall and below Easton loved the bounce house and was flashing his crazy smile to the artist.  He was saying “sssss” for the snake she was making him.

We ran into some friends and Gavin loves their little boy Parker.  They did the Gladiator style jousting.  It was all too heavy for Gavin to handle so he fell on his own and then got knocked out.  Made for a hilarious picture and then he asked for some more, “bring it on” and then was so upset when their turn was over.  Notice the pouting picture.

Also in the end of September my two dear friends Megan and Manda Panda as the kids call Amanda threw a baby shower for our other lovely cool friend, Becky or “Ducky.” Mentioned in plenty of blogs before.  She is expecting her second child, a girl this go round.  I tried to stay out of the shower and let my friends handle it.  I love baby showers.  I don’t know if it is just all the babies in the womb forcing me to be involved in them or if baby showers are really my thing or happy place.  I just brought lots of hosting supplies for them and made a pretty sweet burlap banner for the first time.  I had made paper and ribbon banners before but this was my first with burlap and paint. I also coordinated everyone making DIY hair bows for baby Jaguar. That is her name given by her brother Carter until the real name is to be revealed when she is born.

Becky is so happy and joyful all the time.  I love her smile.  It takes a lot to piss her off but I have seen it happen.

And this is ME, scoring all the tissue paper they were going to throw away.  I pulled it all out of the trash bag and folded it.

Daddy’s Birthday

On September 15th Brad turned one year older and wiser! It was a Sunday so we went to church and then went out to eat Mexican food. The boys were so excited about his Birthday that they had him open one gift before church which was clothes. Then he opened his last gift after dinner.  It is pretty bad that I don’t even remember what else we did that day or what I made him for his dinner.  I did have a cake and “31” number candle for his bid day though.  His card had 31 reasons why we love him and we got him a really nice baseball glove.  He didn’t have one left over or around from growing up and we just never had gotten around to it since with the boys throws he can catch with his hand.  We figured it was still past time and overdue.  With three boys a glove is must! Bradley was really excited because it was just in time for the fall season of baseball ( his third baseball team/season) and he was ready to play catch.  They immediately went out that night!

Bradley wrote in the bottom of the sign.  This is one of their silly names they each say to each other.  This along with turkey biscuits, little ham sandwiches.  You know, all the normal animal and food combo names.

Ready?
066
Get set….
067
Blow!! He is the coolest and let them all blow out the candles with him.  I mean honestly, that will not be happening on my birthday!

His card with his three “cool beans” for each of the boys.  The boys and Brad love edemame beans so the card looked like that and was fitting.
073
He was a good sport with his “old fart” paper and his Mickey “Happy Birthday” sticker we had him wear.
074
His new glove!

Lastly we all ate his cake for him! He is such a little party pooper and wouldn’t even indulge himself for his own birthday.  His own cake! I am going to have to attack him and shove junk food in his mouth one day soon.  You have been warned hun! Happy 31st Birthday to our guy! We each love you so much.

BTS for Gavin

Back to School time for Gavin.  Oh we have been waiting patiently since Bradley starts early and Gavin’s school has the latest possible start date.  Trying to have some back to school traditions.  Here is our handsome middle man all smiles for his big day!

He had a great first day back.  As if he needed to reconnect with Chase but he did anyways! He listed off all the kids names in his class.  He knows practically all of them already. I am impressed at his perceptiveness but if he could only learn his colors…hmmm! Hopefully, that is where school will come into play and help where mommy falls short.  Plus, it is just fun! The excitement in his face and stories about school makes me so joyful.

Because we were so excited we celebrated!!

Oh and because these boys all mesh together and who am I kidding, they like never get a post of their own anymore, here is Easton…

Here is his non-school (stay at home with mommy) photo.  It was actually quiet heartbreaking.  He assumed he was going to school when he got dressed because he loves to do everything with Gavin.  He even was on a search for his own lunchbox that doesn’t even exist. He got a cookie to distract him from crying and ease his pain.  I am just holding off with him since he is the last baby home with me.  Also, I am being cheap and don’t want to pay double tuition or drive to school every day of the week.  Sorry Bubbas, you are learning the ways of the third child very quickly.

I am glad he perked up and I plan to fill his alone time with lots of fun stuff.  Just him and me.  Three mornings a week for three hours each.  What a deal kid, what a deal!
