BTS for Gavin

Back to School time for Gavin.  Oh we have been waiting patiently since Bradley starts early and Gavin’s school has the latest possible start date.  Trying to have some back to school traditions.  Here is our handsome middle man all smiles for his big day!

He had a great first day back.  As if he needed to reconnect with Chase but he did anyways! He listed off all the kids names in his class.  He knows practically all of them already. I am impressed at his perceptiveness but if he could only learn his colors…hmmm! Hopefully, that is where school will come into play and help where mommy falls short.  Plus, it is just fun! The excitement in his face and stories about school makes me so joyful.

Because we were so excited we celebrated!!

Oh and because these boys all mesh together and who am I kidding, they like never get a post of their own anymore, here is Easton…

030

Here is his non-school (stay at home with mommy) photo.  It was actually quiet heartbreaking.  He assumed he was going to school when he got dressed because he loves to do everything with Gavin.  He even was on a search for his own lunchbox that doesn’t even exist. He got a cookie to distract him from crying and ease his pain.  I am just holding off with him since he is the last baby home with me.  Also, I am being cheap and don’t want to pay double tuition or drive to school every day of the week.  Sorry Bubbas, you are learning the ways of the third child very quickly.

032

I am glad he perked up and I plan to fill his alone time with lots of fun stuff.  Just him and me.  Three mornings a week for three hours each.  What a deal kid, what a deal!

Gavin’s 3rd Birthday

Brad and I got home Sunday about 3 in the afternoon.  Gavin was napping so we had time to put his bike together and get ready for his “Party!” One day he said to me “It’s not fair mommy, I never have a party..hmmm!” We had been talking his Birthday up for the whole month and he is super excited but let’s face it, he is just turning 3.  He thought that he already had his Birthday and he didn’t get a party.  Luckily for him we just said it was a PARTY and he was great! Even a low key park party didn’t seem relevant this year.  Next year we will make it bigger!

079

We ended up waking him up at 4 o’clock! This kid can nap good and hard.  So, he was a grouch since we woke him up.  We thought the excitement would overtake being woken up but he must have been really tired that day. Opening presents was a little lack luster because of this.

 075

I got him a few new outfits thinking he would care so thank goodness I had this gummy crocodile I picked up in Wilmington because it was the best thing ever!

 086

Then we surprised him with a bike of his very own! He as been riding one of Bradley’s old tricycles and has been asking for a bike for months now.

094

Taking off! We are super excited about all our park ventures with the bikes.

096

I had to show this picture.  Brad is looking to do minor adjustments on the seat and Easton has missed him so much this weekend that he did not leave his side or let go of his finger.  The one sock on, one off is funny too but not having pants on…well, that’s just normal around here!

103

Daddy’s little mini me.

108

Gavin (still being in a cranky mood) wanted to sit on my lap and that is the only reason Easton left Brad’s side to sit with me.  These boys are so territorial for our time.  You would have thought it was a month…it was 3 days kids! Only one day where we didn't see you.

110

111 098

Bradley and Easton both wanted turns of course!

055

Happy Birthday Gavin! Mimi and Nana were so sweet to hang the sign and decorate for me before we got home. Brad’s 30 banner converted very well into a 3!

120

My silly sweet family!

125

126

Another funny picture Mimi took.  I was fixing Brad’s hair after he said “you all didn't tell me my hair was messed up” He was really joking and not that vein but I fixed it anyways just in time for us to not take any more pictures! Ha-ha! Anyways, while were doing that Bradley is being goofy and Easton is holding that finger again while Gavin is crawling through Brad’s legs!

127

With Mom and Nana! I got Nana a thank you gift that was a for looks dish towel that said along the lines of “The south….where chicken is always fried, tea is always sweet…. where everybody’s name is Darlin’ and somebody’s heart is always be blessed!” This is totally Nana! She says “Oh bless your heart Darlin” all the time in her sweet southern voice. She was also caught sweeping my carpets! Only Nana! Mom and I were cracking up one night when we were talking about customer service people on the phone and Nana said “Oh I know what ye mean, I about lost my religion at the Dell guy on the phone!”

128

130

We were laughing and these just became goofy because Nana does not know how to take pictures ( Bless her Heart)!

131

Caught!

134

Well, if he can do it that I can too since it is my cake (according to Gavin).

138

On to the singing!

Our little 3 year old with a big heart! We love you Gavin Wavin Chunky Boy!

147

Rainbow cake inside. It’s so good that you can forego the utensils!

154

Personal cookie baked by Mimi for the Birthday boy!

It was a great PARTY for one super special boy of ours!

Oh, do you know….

The muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man.

  013

Oh, do you know the muffin man who lives on Longleaf Drive?

He climbs on chairs and breaks into boxes

 014

all to get his hands on some muffins.

 015

Cinnamon must be very tasty because he was very hasty.

He ate two jumbo muffins all in one sitting.

017

Two in each hand, “now that’s double fisting!”

Oh, do you know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man?

Oh, do you know the muffin man who likes…

001

his applesauce too!

002

** Muffin Man. I just don’t know what to do with YOU! **

Happy 2nd Birthday Gavin!

Today you are TWO Gavin! We are certainly looking forward to another year of fun with you son since you have made the past two years so amazing! Daddy and I are blessed to the brim from you.  We love you to the moon and back.  You have captured our hearts and make us smile and laugh each and every single day! All of the tears, boo-boos, colicky nights, tantrums, puppy dog faces, kisses, hugs and fun times of the past few years have led us to this point today.  Today was a celebration of your little life that is a MUST to celebrate because you are so uniquely and indescribably a gift to us.  We know God has great plans ahead in life for you.  Here is what you did today on your special day….

087

Took this last night when I hung it for him so it would be there when he woke up.  I couldn’t help but notice all the handprints on my window.

 090

The birthday boy and his sidekick getting into the gifts bright and early.  I swear they think there birthdays are Christmas since mommy makes such big deals out of them.

094

Tearing into the gift Grammy sent.

095 098

Smiling at this new green monkey.  Thanks Grammy!

 107 110

Now onto the gift from Mommy, Daddy, Bradley and Easton.

114

A tiger pillow pet and a little dinosaur that roars.  His little party theme was “Things that go ROAR” so our gifts went with that theme.  He loves to ROAR and does a pretty good one and we think it is funny that it is his default animal noise.  If he doesn't remember when you ask him “what does the duck say?” he will say either “roar” or a “moo!” Now onto more of his “roaring two’s” day that is not to be confused with the “roaring twenties.”

 118

He loved his new things so much that he had to test them out how he would use them for night- night right there on the coffee table. Why am I not one bit surprised?!

 123

We went to the park today for a small party with friends.  He is checking out his cool large lion balloon.

 134

129

Chocolate pumpkin cream cheese cupcakes, the same as last year.  I thought I may make it a tradition but they didn’t turn out the same so I don’t think I will.

131

Playing I see you and being silly!

  141

144

Two of our guests. Jonathon and Josiah.

 145

Easton tangling Daddy up in the balloons.

 148

153

Another lovely guest, “Tabita” as the boys calls her.

 155

And another lovely guest.

158

He is all about drinking water out of a big boy cup now.  He does really good but as you can see here he drenches himself still sometimes.  Which, is why he likes the big boy cup so much.

160

Walking away from the picture.  He really does not like to “listen” and wants to be in his own terrible two world and have all of us orbit around him.  I hope that is not what he really wished for when blowing out his candles.  Ha!

161

We were joking because today for his birthday/party he was a party pooper as he was the only one who needed a diaper change the whole time there and it was his party so he could cry if he wanted to! So, that is exactly what he did.  This face is only because I picked him up and parked his butt in-between the girls for a group picture.  Since that wasn't on his agenda….TANTRUM!

 164

It calmed down for a second and thankfully Laura came to the rescue and gave him a gift to hold.

 167

She saved the day and he was still cutting her the evil eye.  What a little stinker!

It was a great party.  Thanks everyone who made it special for him and for our family.

 175 176

He had such a great day.  We probably told him Happy Birthday 200 times today and talked about how he is 2 now.  He also probably blew out his candles like 15 times or more.  He was hilarious and kept blowing them out before we finished the song so I kept relighting, he kept blowing.
