Memorial Weekend

We decided to stay put for the weekend so Saturday Bradley and I went to the movies to see Rio! It was super cute and the perfect date with him.

Ready to go Mom!

Our day date picture! The movie was super cute and it was nice to sit, relax and hear Bradley giggle so much and to be able to join in with him without taking care of the younger ones.

We came home and shared our popcorn with Gavin. He calls it “PoppyO” In fact he adds an O or an A to the end of a lot of words. On Sunday we got Panera for lunch and headed to the shaded park. I forgot my camera that day though.

Monday, Memorial Day, we got our Memorial Day gear on. I did not take nearly enough pictures. We grilled outside with our friends Adam and Lacey and Bradley and Gavin enjoyed the slip – N- slide! Oh and after seeing the below picture I am totally going to get a good spray tan this week.

This morning Liz and Kristen came over for coffee and monkey bread. The kids had a great play date while we chatted away. We were saying our last and official good bye to Kristen because she is moving to Florida tomorrow. She will definitely be missed but we are very excited for her and her family.

Gavin playing “Roar” and you can see him saying it.

While Easton smiled and enjoyed his tummy time.

Then the peaceful playing from both of them didn’t last long. Gavin tried to yank him up and when he couldn’t carry him, he just…kerplunked on him!!

Then what story of mine these days would be complete without ice cream!! Seriously, this is what happens when Daddy goes to the grocery store. Not my doing but I always can’t resist the pictures. There is something about ice cream on a warm summer evening.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Our Memorial Day was spent just perfectly with military friends. Brad and Adam have both deployed like over 20 times probably between the two of them and God has protected them and sent them home to us safely. As we sat down to eat we thanked God for his mighty hand in all of their deployments but prayed for the families of military men and women who did not return home. They were having a different memorial day honoring the memory of their loved ones.

I am so thankful for the sacrifices Brad has made for our country. It is an amazing and noble thing that he and all of our military do for us to provide us with the freedom that our country stands for. Although that freedom was once robbed from us we are regaining it back and my husband I know played a role in that.

God Bless Our Military! The Fallen, the Wounded, the Veterans, the Active Duty….all of them!

What’s 2 into 6?

Three!  The reason for this simple math equation is today is mine and Brad’s 6 year Anniversary!  Six years married and it started with just two hearts and now we have three more hearts! Not too shabby for six years of marriage. In fact, it is an amazing blessing to have these numbers in our life!  When we count our blessings we count 1, 2, 3 little boys that fill our hearts and are a result of the two hearts that committed their lives to each other just 6 short years ago on this day, February 12th.

This week we celebrated early since our Anniversary is on Valentines weekend we wanted to beat the crowds of lovey dovey people! Brad snuck and planned a date night for me and Liz and Kristen showed up at my door to watch the kids! It was actually great that he did that instead of a sitter since Easton is only 7 weeks old, I would be nervous to have a sitter juggle our 3 kids.  We went to a lovely intimate dinner and then a movie.  Which unless there is an event that is about all you can do in this town.  It was great for both of us to get the night off from putting the boys to bed.  So today since we already had our date we are just going to get take out dinner and snuggle up and watch our wedding video! He’s thrilled, haha! He will probably just fast forward to the good parts! We have had so many more good parts of our lives and I look forward to another 6 years and more!

Then there are the next 3 hearts of this beautiful equation….

I made them do a little photo shoot to document our three sweethearts!  The pictures do the talking.  It was a riot!

I realized after that Bradley was holding Easton’s ear in half of them.  He has a weird ear obsession.  He holds his own and I think its a comfort thing for him so he was trying it out on Easton too! oh my!

Nothing Something

Here at our house we have been up to a whole lot of nothing but waiting on the big baby something to happen.   It is in those simple uneventful moments where I find some of my best joy!   My mom came to visit so Brad and I went out on a date to the classic dinner and a movie.  She is now back at my brothers house in Charlotte helping with Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.  We are saying a prayer, throwing the baby car seat in and will be joining them tomorrow.  All set to deliver in a Charlotte hospital but I am not getting that feeling like I will.  I still have 12 days after turkey day until my due date!

One of my last few belly shots!

001

Gavin got some new shoes so I was letting him get used to them and I just love his little legs!

003

The sweetest thing!  Oh yes, and I can not forget to mention that Gavin is now 13 months old and he has officially said his FIRST WORD which is…..SIT! We don't treat him like a dog but he must hear us telling Bradley all the time at the table and he is also into backing his butt up on you and just sitting whenever he feels the need so we always acknowledge how cute that is so I am guessing that is how the word SIT came to be his first.   He always tried to form ball or car but never quite finished and sit is really easy but its kind a funny of what it sounds like he could be saying instead!  I would be the worst mom ever for that one.

005

I had to document this.  Bradley has not liked feet pajamas for a while but he has some in his size and one night said he wanted to wear them.  I thought “Yes, perfect time for a cute Christmas pajama picture of the boys all in feet ones!” But…..Nope, he started undressing….

006 011

I have been doing some online shopping to try to get ready for Christmas and not have to take the baby out a lot to shop.  Boys are always climbing on something!

002

We got our carpets cleaned since Gavin is pretty much not spitting up anymore it needed a good cleaning from all his many spots this past year.  So, we played in the backyard while our house was being taken over.

010

Gavin ran around with a bat the whole time and was perfectly happy!

012

I tried to get some pictures of them and it ended up that the best ones are the ones trying.  Gavin just does not sit still.

Gavin laughing at Bradley while he swings him.

046

There have been a lot of giggle fests lately too because the boys are both at a playful fun age!
