I just LOVE these boys…

The other day I walked down the hallway to find Gavin had wiggled out of the locked tray of his high chair.  He threw his bulky bib off which then created room to squirm and VOILA…..

001

I freaked of course and snatched him up so he wouldn’t fall but then as all of us snap happy moms would do, I put him back on it so I could take a picture! He was so thrilled with himself both times he was TRAY SURFING.  This is his dangerous and mischievous side but I also love this side…..

002

That he is a lover and a snuggler!

003 004 005

How could I resist the gigglefest and ticklish side…..

004

I pinned Daddy!

008

Then there is Bradley Bear who in all of his terrible three’s stage right now still finds a way to melt my heart with his words.  Here are some of Bradley’s quotes I never want to forget.

004

“That’s a great idea Captain Mommy!”

“You got a smart eye to look out!” (When I had pointed to a toy he missed picking up)

This one is so sweet but random.  He was putting ornaments back on the tree for me that Gavin took off.  He was looking for a spot to hang it and said…

“I guess this spot is fine if God doesn’t mind.”

I said “Who?” because I thought he said the word “guy.”

He replied, “God, the God that lives in my heart.  I can say that Mommy because he is my family.  If he lives in your heart than God is your family and if he’s not in your heart than he’s not your family!”

I was flabbergasted at his maturity.  He also walks around the house singing the lyrics to “Our God is an awesome God; He reigns from heaven above with wisdom, power and love.  Our God is an Awesome God!”

The last quote.  We were saying prayers and I said “Thank you for our health” and he added “yeah, thank you God that we don’t crack apart!”

As you can see and read I have many wonderful reasons to LOVE these BOYS and I can’t wait to LOVE another!

Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree

How lovely are your branches………..?  Our tree is not so lovely.  The ornaments are lovely to Gavin and that is why our tree looks like this.

005

Brad and Bradley went to pick a real tree on Saturday morning and I was finished all the decorating by Sunday evening.  This included trips for more lights and all my many distractions! Well, by Monday night all the bottom ornaments were gone.  A few broken, most of them scattered all over the floor and all the dangerous or glass ones had been moved to the top! So, THIS IS IT! It will have to remain like this the rest of the month.  When Bradley was 10 months old and at a intrigued age for the tree he was over it after I told him “No” a few times and it just become like a piece of furniture in the house that was off limits.

Gavin, on the other hand, has run around the tree, tried to eat the tree, pulled the lights.  I am really praying he never knocks it over!!  Here are some more pictures of our decorating weekend.

007

Gavin already knows which one is his Santa!

002

Bradley being Hercules in the tree skirt!  A true Roman Soldier get up!

003

See?

004

Look at that face!

006

What Mom….it doesn't matter how many snowman you put out for me to play with, I still love things I can’t touch the best!

008

009

I wonder what it tastes like?

Bradley helping Mommy with the final touches on Sunday evening before Gavin made us rearrange it.

011

Bradley puts all the ornaments in one spot anyways so this is definitely just a KIDS tree this year!  Is it surprising that Bradley is shirtless too?!

Also, I am one week away from my due date today.  I went to the doctor yesterday and am making other progressions but am not dilated yet.  I have been having pre labor contractions though and today was on the heating pad a lot because my back was killing me.  Hopefully the next post will be brought to you by my favorite and the best guest blogger….LIZ! To keep everyone up to date on the delivery and the announcement of the birth of our third Woodward son!

Nothing Something

Here at our house we have been up to a whole lot of nothing but waiting on the big baby something to happen.   It is in those simple uneventful moments where I find some of my best joy!   My mom came to visit so Brad and I went out on a date to the classic dinner and a movie.  She is now back at my brothers house in Charlotte helping with Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.  We are saying a prayer, throwing the baby car seat in and will be joining them tomorrow.  All set to deliver in a Charlotte hospital but I am not getting that feeling like I will.  I still have 12 days after turkey day until my due date!

One of my last few belly shots!

001

Gavin got some new shoes so I was letting him get used to them and I just love his little legs!

003

The sweetest thing!  Oh yes, and I can not forget to mention that Gavin is now 13 months old and he has officially said his FIRST WORD which is…..SIT! We don't treat him like a dog but he must hear us telling Bradley all the time at the table and he is also into backing his butt up on you and just sitting whenever he feels the need so we always acknowledge how cute that is so I am guessing that is how the word SIT came to be his first.   He always tried to form ball or car but never quite finished and sit is really easy but its kind a funny of what it sounds like he could be saying instead!  I would be the worst mom ever for that one.

005

I had to document this.  Bradley has not liked feet pajamas for a while but he has some in his size and one night said he wanted to wear them.  I thought “Yes, perfect time for a cute Christmas pajama picture of the boys all in feet ones!” But…..Nope, he started undressing….

006 011

I have been doing some online shopping to try to get ready for Christmas and not have to take the baby out a lot to shop.  Boys are always climbing on something!

002

We got our carpets cleaned since Gavin is pretty much not spitting up anymore it needed a good cleaning from all his many spots this past year.  So, we played in the backyard while our house was being taken over.

010

Gavin ran around with a bat the whole time and was perfectly happy!

012

I tried to get some pictures of them and it ended up that the best ones are the ones trying.  Gavin just does not sit still.

There have been a lot of giggle fests lately too because the boys are both at a playful fun age!

just fun at home

Hi everyone, Congratulations! If you are reading this you have made it into our private blog! Ha! Seriously though, thanks for appreciating our family and for that you deserve some cute faces!  We haven’t been doing much except getting ready for the baby.  We are running out of room in our house so I have a lot of organizing to do to make room for another little bundle of joy that comes with more things! Gavin is doing great and in the past few days I have switched him to a sippy cup.  His brothers extra Nalgene sippy cup.  I am a huge fan of these.  If you haven’t tried them than go out and get one.  He is still getting used to it but I think he is doing good enough to not have to go back to bottles.  Yeah! I am however still trying to figure out the right milk for him.  Right now he is on skim and spits up less but SPIT Happens still from time to time! He still has 6 teeth and drools constantly so more must be on the way.  Bradley is still as quick witted as ever! His quotes lately are….

“I'm going for it mom!”  This is when I tell him not to do something that’s dangerous!

Me: “I'm going to miss you at school today buddy!” (My pregnancy emotions kicking in.  I drop him off places all the time!)

Bradley: “It’s Ok mom, its like people do this stuff all the time.  It just happens and stuff and you don’t have to be so disappointed about it.  I will see you later, OK!”

He is also really into batman and he argues with Daddy over who is stronger Daddy or Hercules.  He is into knowing what time it is and always asks “Well, how long do I have to sleep for, just tell me?”  He also announces when Gavin is awake.  It is a BIG deal in this house! He screams “Daddy, your Chunky Boys is up, come see.  I have a surprise for you, it’s your Chunky Boys!”

I'm sure I am forgetting a lot more but here are the pictures….

005 Bradley sharing his cape! This was one of the tiny reasons I wanted to go private because Bradley is always in his underwear these days!

002

 006

Gavin is into the trash these days and is really driving me crazy!

005

He thinks its funny though!  My empty TUMS bottle.  I eat them like candy these days while I am pregnant.
