Baseball & Stuff….

The past few weeks Bradley has been finishing up his baseball season.  He has improved in just this season and a major improvement from when he played last year at five years old.  He loves to play the sport so that makes us happy.  He is the best on his team for being in the “baseball ready” position.  He just squats away with his glove between his legs waiting for the ball to be hit to him.  When it is his turn to hit he now has his stance down, he knows what bat is the best for him and he hits it almost always on the first pitch.  Then, he runs his little heart out to first base.  He will hate me later for saying this, but I love seeing him run with his little baseball bubble butt.  We all have really enjoyed the season and going to his games as a family.  Aside from the love of the game we have seen a big confidence boost in him which is what we had been praying for with him. So, YAY!! Gavin is his number one fan too.  He shouts things to him like, “keep your eye on the ball Bradley,” and “good hit buddy,” before and after a play. All things I did not tell him to say.  He jus picked it up and he loves his big brother!

The boys have been rough housing and getting the “monster” that is Easton….

Lastly, it’s not fun until someone is flinging diapers off and literally shaking and saying “I shake my booty, I shake my booty!” Easton was just done doing that and hear he is getting back up to the table to finish his dinner (I missed the action picture.)  This happens a lot in our house, more than I would like to admit.  We just get up from the table and shake our booties! He also has been earning himself some m&m’s for going pee on the big potty. We have a lot of reasons to jump and shake our booties.  When you do it, you feel so carefree.  So, get up and “JUMP, shake your booty, JUMP, JUMP, shake your booty!!” You know you want to ;)

Lake Days

On Memorial Day we drove to our friends the Blankenship’s in western Virginia. This if the third time we have been there if I am counting right.  They seem to still like us in spite of our children pooping in their house or random places.  That is the running joke at least.  This time there were no accidents thank goodness.  Instead we just had a wonderful time being surrounded by God’s beauty while the guys “worked.” They really did work but it was the type of work included guns and wake surfing, so, not a bad day at the office for them! I didn’t bring my camera on the boat so I don’t have any proof.  Bradley got a chance at riding the tube behind the boat which he loves doing.  Gavin tried it this time with Daddy but cried still.

The kids were completely wore out the first night.

Easton as our dog lover just hung close to Abby soaking in the life as well.

One afternoon, Jen forced me to take a break.  She watched the boys while I went to the downtown historic Inn and Spa.  The Martha Washington.  There is so much history in the town they live in.  I got a massage and a pedicure (which I messed up within an hour and fixed once I got home).  It was a wonderful treat to have a chance to relax.  That night it got even better.  We got a sitter and went to dinner! I was so blessed and spoiled that day!

One evening we went to Taylor’s baseball game.  The boys had a great time cheering him on and eating concession food of course!

The days were so much fun and the nights ended all the same.  The kids all sleeping on the couch watching the Lorax while the parents hung out.

We came home on Thursday and Bradley missed a few days of school for this adventure but he was back on Friday.  That Saturday was another fun time.  We went with our Hart friends.  Brian, Becky and Carter to the Pinehurst Lake.

Gavin was having such a blast on this boogy board.  The force of the water when he would dive one it kept making his swim trunks fall down.  I see a hiney all white and shiny!

Bradley enjoyed being tossed into the water by Mr.. Brian.

Easty Bubbas did a lot of this! He just loved hanging out in water and we almost were packing up to leave because he had a melt down since it was going into nap time.  Daddy held him and he fell asleep a minute later in his arms.  Still a true Daddy’s boy!

I got to hang out with these two bathing beauties.  Manda and Ducky.

It was another fun day in the sunshine with our friends.

Zoo Fieldtrip & Pizza Park Party!!

Here is what Bradley has been enjoying for some end of the year fun with school.  May 24th he had a fieldtrip to the NC Zoo.  They had only two children who’s parents did not chaperone so it ended up just being ‘go with your child to the zoo day’  At least that is how it felt.  Too many parents if you ask me. I tried to stick with some of his friends and parents so that way we would feel like we were actually on a school fieldtrip. Immediately all the kids took off in one direction and the boys just were so excited they thought they ruled the zoo.  It is crazy how Bradley can get when he is around a bunch of kids his age and does not have to sit still.  Once we laid down the law we were off to enjoy the day but I still felt like I was trying to keep up with him half the day. He had so much fun! I on the other hand was exhausted and felt like it was all a blur covering the entire zoo from 9:30 to 2:30.  The best part of the day was he got to ride a big school bus.  Since I drive him to school he has not experienced this right of passage before.  He thought it was so cool!

My camera started acting up that day so I didn’t get the moments I wanted to capture.

They all wore their matching Pinehurst Dolphins ‘Kindergarten’ shirts :)

They all had to do a project on a zoo animal.  Bradley chose the wolf so he got all his friends excited and howling about his animal.

Here is Craig, Bradley, Alex, Kenny and Patrick.  The Wolf Pack.

Bradley loves his friend Patrick little brother, Benjamin.  I think it is because he can’t talk back like his brothers do.

I let Bradley pick his pictures for his report and we made this collage.  These are the ones he chose with THE WOLF as the title and five interesting facts.  It is interesting to see the different sides of him because he specifically wanted a wolf cub and a wolf eating.  He told me today that when he stood up and showed his project to the class he said “and this is a picture of the wolf eating a caribou’s BUTT!” He just had to make sure he said that.

Today they had a PTA sponsored Pizza Party to celebrate a great year and an end to Kindergarten.

I missed it but I had Karen send me some pictures.

Patrick, Craig, Bradley and Presley.  His not so girlfriend, girlfriend.  I think he is so smitten on her but he gets so shy and by the looks of it she does too.

This week is his last week of school and he will be a big first grader.  He even got a yearbook and had everyone in his class sign it.  The new thing is to just sign your name with a colored in heart after it.  At least that is what his class did.  You are becoming all grown up Bradley Bear! I’m sure I will blink and tomorrow I will be at your high school graduation.
