Ye Ole Renaissance Fair

This past weekend we went to Charlotte to stay with my bro and his family and go to the Renaissance Festival.  Bradley and Jackson got dressed up like the “carnie” people but it didn't last very long. 

 

We spent a lot of time in shops like this.  We never bought them anything but they played with all of it and put it all back. 

 

We met the king and queen during a knighting ceremony that Bradley and Jackson participated in. 

They had to pass test of virtue like honesty and bravery.   They were listening intently to their tasks from the king.

Bradley’s turn! He told the woman his name was “Sir Bradley the Strong” so that is exactly how she announced him to the King.  He was definitely intimidated and we have noticed he puts his hands in his mouth sometimes when he’s afraid. 

He did it though and is now an official Knight too!

We talked Brad into trying to conquer the Jacobs Ladder game that is shaky.  He was on the top during some of it but these pictures are just funnier! It is harder than it looks obviously because I know my man is strong!

Brad took Jackson into a dungeon place.  Bradley was too afraid so what did Mommy do…I let him pick out an overpriced flying dragon!

They were captivated by the beauty of the pixie fairy! Boys!!!

Then they did some jousting.

Bradley went again but this time Aunt Joanie wanted to go.   We saw his face light up so many times on this day! That is what its all about!

Then they took a little ride on a BIG Elephant!

Here we are back in another sword store.  The newly knighted Sir Bradley the Strong is showing off his warrior moves!

Then we stumbled on the man we had heard all about…the POOP guy.  He is soooo gross! He actually told the boys “lick it before you sniff it!”  Bradley is clinging to Uncle Bubba keeping his distance. 

We ended our day with the Royal Tournament.  Bradley was very fascinated at the bloodshed.  I wasn't expecting that so there were a million questions to answer from that one.  He also loved the horses and watching them “giddy-up!”

Lastly, our littlest Knight Gavin! He was such a trooper once again and just strolled the whole day! It was a wonderful family weekend and I was sad to leave. 

Pumpkin Patch & more “Lucky”

Thursday we went on our hunt for pumpkins at the patch.  This was another adventure for the Bradley and Lucky duo and they were unstoppable!

 

 

They searched from afar and directed Daddy.  I love Gavin's little hand resting on Bradley's knee.

I was pregnant with Gavin and dilated.  This year things aren’t that different, ha-ha!

Once we got home Bradley had to show Lucky his “vroom-vroom” so what do you think a man would think of?  Brad duct taped him to Bradley’s helmet and off they went……

It was a fun day but these two sleepy heads were off to bed.  Friday morning Lucky got put back in his case (home) with his book, movie and journal.  I wrote all about Bradley and Lucky’s adventures that you have seen here along with some pictures to prove it and off Bradley went to preschool to return him.  He came home from school devastated at nap time that he didn't have Lucky anymore.  It is a great motivator for the kids but it has its glitches.  Looks like this exact Lucky is on the Christmas list for Santa!

Soccer, Date with Mommy and “Lucky”

Yesterday Bradley had soccer and I have to document since its only like 6 sessions since they are so young.  There is only 2 more left.  He has been doing so much better.  He is totally listening, participating and yesterday he was the fastest runner on all the drills!  Daddy met us at the field from work and I couldn't get a hold of him on his phone so I said “I wonder if Daddy got tied up at work!” Bradley took that literally and said “I hope he didn’t.  I hope a police officer didn't come to his work and tie him up with a rope!  If he did I am going to PUNCH that police officer since I am such a good puncher!”  What a mess this kid! So although I thought it was funny I had to explain to him that was not what I meant and then go on to talk about authority figures and we can’t hit police officers!!! Also to clarify,  Bradley hasn’t punched anyone.  He just practices on my couch pillows for fun. 

Since this post is all about Bradley here is one of Gavin and Daddy.  The next Woodward boy to hit the field! This just melted my heart seeing him walk and kick the ball with his Daddy and not fall.

Then today was  a preschool morning and remember when I said he got the “Clean Up Award” last Friday.  Well, they don't let Lucky go home on the weekends so he cleaned up great today too and got to take Lucky home!!  Lucky comes in a case with a book, movie, candy treat and journal to tell about his Adventures! This was a great day for Bradley and Lucky because we already had plans.  Daddy was at home watching Gavin so we could go on a Mommy/Son date.  We picked up Chick-fil-a then headed to the movies for a matinee.

This is the movie we saw.  It was OK.  Bradley enjoyed it.  I also have to vent on what is up with all these 3D movies.  Bradley doesn’t where the glasses and they are more money, they give me a headache too so I am over it.  Can't we go back to the way things were, I guess in the OLD days, haha! I really loved my one on one time with Bradley and it was very much needed.  He can be a handful but is such a sweet boy!

So, stay tuned for more “Adventures with Lucky.”  He has to go back to school Friday morning.  Bradley is supposed to be napping right now but he and Lucky are in there playing (I hear them)!

Daddy and Autumnfest

Daddy got back from his “training” in Nevada, AKA….”fun trip” this week! The boys were so excited to see him and I was too! We just took it easy because Daddy likes to do that right after traveling and then yesterday we went to Autumnfest in town. 

Gavin loves carrying pillows we have discovered!

I had been having trouble with Bradley cleaning his room but 2 days before Daddy got back something just “clicked!” I don’t know what happened but this is him showing me how he cleaned his room all by himself! They also said he won the Clean UP Award Friday at school.  I really hope this diligent boy sticks around!

This is Gavin waking up Daddy his first morning back.  Tricks on you Daddy!  He was totally pretending to sleep to see what Gavin would do!

Autumnfest was cool.  I had totally forgotten that it was mostly vendors and I actually wasn’t in the mood to shop.  We did find some stuff for Bradley to do and ran into some friends at the playground so it ended up being a great day!

Its out of Here!

Here he is ready for bed and I was doing a craft project so Bradley had a chance to use his new and first ever scissors!!  He was excited because he had been asking me for some.  He did great and even showed us how he cut out a diamond, square and rectangles!
