Five Months Old

Here we are 3 days into being 5 months old.  I had mentioned before that he can roll over both ways but here is his job well done sticker! Rolling over pictures are hard to catch in action though.  It wont be long until he is sitting up on his own either.  We have been working on it!

Easton is the best little baby.  Sometimes he doesn’t make a peep and if he does he will just sooth himself.  Unfortunately it is with his thumb.  It is cute now but I know if he gets too accustomed to it then it will be hard to break him of that.  He does take a pacifier but honestly, I think he has figured out that he can get his thumb quicker than I will get him a pacifier.  This kid is practically raising himself over here with his two rambunxious brothers for mommy to deal with  take care of also.  I’m sure he will be following in their footsteps.

He is now found his “voice” in the form of loud baby noises and talking.  He also rolls his tongue around in his mouth.  I am not sure if that is part of early teething or is part of him figuring out all the noises he can make.

He loves his play mat.  Still loves his swing to put him to sleep.  Loves his bouncy seat and bumbo.  I feel like he just moves from station to station during the day but that is the way it goes until they can crawl.

He still spits up!  His nails grow so fast and he scratches himself and he has a little bit of baby eczema on his face that seems to be hanging around.

He loves to play Peek-a-boo, this little piggy, and patty cake.  Bradley was singing “this little light of mine” to him this morning and he was smiling so big.

When he rolls over he does like tummy time for 5 minutes or so.  He starts to get frustrated and puts his head down and then will cry for me to come get him.

He loves playing with his feet the best and we also noticed on his belly he kicks his feet and rocks back and forth already.  Maybe he will be an early crawler.

I am still breastfeeding him and we need to work on bed time feedings more.  Unfortunately with two boys needing cribs and not enough bedrooms, Easton is still next to me in the bassinet.  It may just be that he has to move to the portacrib that is a little bigger in our bedroom and sleep in that for his first year.  He is a boy so he can rough it! The only thing that makes this not ideal is that babies and children sleep better without their parents in the room.  It is like he knows I am next to him and that is why he wants to overeat at night.

We shall see.  I will get my act together one of these days! Or not!

Great pics of Easton! And Sophia has been singing "Light of Mine" too, they must have learned it in school. Happy 5 months Easton! The stickers turned out good.

He looks so much older in those pictures on his belly! I can't believe how fast the months are flying by for him. It's so funny how you say he's practically raising himself, God blessed you with exactly what you needed for your 3rd child, an easy baby!!

Is that really true, that children sleep better without their parents in the room? Bryce has been doing much better since I haven't been sleeping with him! Wish I would've known this earlier ;) Easton seems like such a sweet baby :) You're such an amazing mother!
