Bradley is now playing his first season of baseball (Coach Pitch) through our Pinehurst Parks and Recreation Department. His team is the Blue Jays. Here are pictures from his first week of Baseball. His season is based around meeting for practices and/or games on Mondays and Wednesdays for the next 6 weeks. Nothing on Saturday’s yet which is what I was used to growing up. He met Monday and Wednesday this week for practice and then on the 7th they have one more practice and it is also picture day and he will receive his uniform. Then it is ALL games after that every Monday and Wednesday. They really throw them in there. He is on a team with boys and girls ranging from 5-7 years old. There are some good and bad things to that but so far everyone has been very nice welcoming Bradley and other children for their first season.
Bradley has done really well and throws great, can hit great and catch good. Improvement on all of those of course will come and also he needs to RUN right when he hits the ball. It is funny to see Bradley and other first time players hesitate because they are excited and shocked probably that they hit it and are just watching the ball. Let’s get on to the pictures now. I didn’t take too many close up’s as I did not bring my zoom lens and I stayed back some because I didn’t want to come across as ‘overbearing sport fanatic mom’ right from the beginning! Also, there are probably just as many if not more pictures of Gavin and Easton. I know that’s bad but Bradley is off running and playing I don’t always have him in view.
Teaching them throwing form.
They went through a whole game and what it would be like and Brad helped the coach with the team. Meanwhile back in the stands Bradley’s two little fans were playing a game of their own. They wanted to be playing baseball but since they couldn’t they found fun wherever they could.
“No, No Easton”
Playing Tag or at least Gavin thinks they are.
They found a random water fountain in a pipe and it was just their height so they started splashing in it.
That was all on Monday night. Here is Wednesday night….
Hitting.
They rotate with the other four teams so on this night they were practicing just in the grass.
Gavin playing by throwing the ball up in the sky to himself. I love how the water tower is right in view. It is a nice touch for nostalgia reasons considering we wont always live here and all three of our boys were born in this little town :)
Hitting.
Hands on helmet on base.
Running in for their team talk and snacks! Good Hustle Blue Jays!!!
