The boys, Brad and I are always thankful for any time spent with Mimi and Dunka. This time they were en route to Ashville for Mimi’s brother, Uncle John’s, wedding. Mimi is now living back in California so she flew into Virginia and drove straight here with Dunka. Once Dunka moves to Cali too then I am sure we will take a trip as a family out there. These NC boys aren’t done being Californiafied apparently. They will be excited about that because Bradley really did notice when the airplane trips stopped and it just became road trips. He misses flying! Brad unfortunately missed them by a day as he left Wednesday for a work trip to Florida. There visit was fun so let’s get to it….
On Thursday after they got here we hung out a bit for lunch and then headed to get local handmade ice cream and then to the castle park. I don’t feel like flip-flopping all my picks so here is the last thing first.
Dunka played and chased the boys like crazy. Him and Mimi were being Dinosaurs and Lions chasing them.
Gavin is hiding in the tire from Dunka Dinosaur. Dunka really can scare them but then they crack up hysterical laughing. Even Easton joined in on wanting to be chased and scared.
Ughhhh…he kept eating mulch!
We found Easton sitting in the tire sucking his thumb. This little boy is so funny. He gets tired and sits and sucks but he never cries or complains. Then we realized he couldn’t get his fat short legs over the tire to get out.
Big brother Bradley to the rescue! Then he was caught eating mulch again so Dunka torture tickled him. So hilarious!
Here they boys are eating ice cream. Bradley makes awful faces for pictures to drive me CRAZY!
I got the cone for myself and Easton thinking I would hold it since he would see his brothers and want some.
What was I thinking. He had to hold it and make a mess! He even cracked a hole in the cone pulling it away from my hands.
After the park we came back home and hung out some more. Read books, found snakes in the back yard and ate dinner.
This bat has been like Gavin’s comfort blankie lately and he found it in the yard all dirty and weathered rotting out.
Normally there would be a “No bats in the house rule” but he carries it and wants to sleep with it.
Yesterday I finally got him a new one and was able to chuck this one without him caring!
They left Friday morning to get on the road again. Thanks for coming to visit!
Classic! Gavin eating pretzels from a bag and Easton ripping Bradley’s head off!
We really enjoyed your visit Mom and Dad but don’t think I did not hear it from the boys once you left. From Bradley, “Mimi and Dunka only stayed one night. I wish they could stay 5, 4, 3, 2 nights!” and then Gavin in his moments of weakness and crying tantrums would say, “I want Mimi Dunka right now” while stomping his feet. So, hurry back! haha!
Here is a picture from the wedding we missed going to.
Boys, your great Uncle John was married to Holly on May 12th, 2012.

That is funny about the bat. At church today he pulled me aside to tell me all about his bat. lol Great family pics!! I love Easton with that big cone.
I love the ice cream pictures of the boys with their cones!!! Easton is keeping up with those older boys! That is so funny about the bat, Ryder gets attached to random things like that too and insists on having them at all times for a few days...then it's on to the next cool thing!
