This week I volunteered as one of four Crew Leaders to 25 Kindergarteners in our church’s VBS. I have never done anything like this before and although it was EXHAUSTING it was so WORTH IT!! I got to have 20 little girls for a week that all gravitated to me and I got to love on them. That was nice since I am all boy in my house. The real reason that it was worth it is being able to be hands and feet for Jesus to teach these children more than they already knew about Gods love. Their little hearts are just amazing and it touched my heart so much to see Jesus' light shining in these children. Literally, their faces lit up so much to learn and have FUN too! We lost name tags for the kids since they lost their stickiness so I got a chance to learn every child’s name and I know now how teachers can get so attached to their students. I would totally do it again and I hope to see some of my little panda crew at church from time to time!
Every morning we started in the sanctuary so we could sing, dance, shout and congo!
Every morning their was a MASCOT that told us our Bible Point and Bible Verse for the day. We shouted “Thank You God!” so many times. The kids had to shout it any time someone said the Bible Point.
Day 1- God made you
Day 2- God watches over you
Day 3- God listens to you
Day 4- God loves you no matter what
Day 5- God gives good gifts
Our next station was Bible Story Adventure. We learned about Elijah, Jonah, Jesus, and Hannah to name a few.
Next was Chatter Theater. Chatter is a Chipmunk and we watched a movie about him and the Panda Paradise and each day it was leading up to day 5 to find out what happened to the Pandas???
Next was snack time where they even had food that went with each days lesson and bible point. Here is my group!
Next on the schedule was the Play Room. Disco lights set the mood to dance MORE and go in the play area with tunnels, slides and a ball pit.
Chatter the Chipmunk pops in from time to time! These two girls were crew leaders with us but we learned very quickly that these teenagers were driven to help at VBS for another reason……talk and see boys!! They were MIA a lot and so it was just 2 of us with 25 kids really. Tiffany and Amanda are so sweet but definitely needed to be reigned in.
We went outside today to get misted.
Three little bathing beauties!
The Crew Girls!
We went to Craft time next where I saw Liz everyday. She was a Station Leader there. Then we ended everyday back in the sanctuary doing more singing and dancing. Each song had dance moves to it which made it so fun to see the children memorize all of them by the end of the week.
Bradley went to the 4 year old group and Gavin and Easton were in the childcare room the whole week. We had so much fun after the chore of getting them all packed up and into the car then into the building every morning. I was exhausted before I started. The next blog post will be Bradley's version of VBS compliments of Liz who took photos of him for me with Sophia.

You were such a great crew leader... I didn't hear any of the others scream Chicca Chicca Boom Boom like you did, lol!
And, yes, I agree that those teenagers just cared about the popcorn and boys. It was nice to have the extra hands sometimes. You did great, and it was a very fulfilling week!
