Dear Easton,
Tomorrow you will be one years old! Mommy wanted to share how special this day is to me and our family. You have truly changed our world for the better. Our family could have never been complete without you and God knew just that, so one year ago he gave you to us as our surprise third son. You are so easy going and a delight to be around. The calm and confident type with a bright dimpled smile to make you even more adorable.
In your first year you have managed to capture mommy and daddy’s hearts even more than you did the day we met you on December 16, 2010. You have also calmed your brothers and captured their hearts too. I am sure you will teach them a few things as you grow up.
Recently you have stood on your own for a few seconds but we all “baby” you so much that it does not surprise me you are not walking yet. Imagine that! You are the baby of the family and we baby you. We all just dote over you and are glad you let us kiss you and give you squeeze hugs whenever we want. You are also a wonderful eater and we have to literally cut you off so you wont get a belly ache or add another dimple of baby fat in those legs. We are currently working on weaning you from mommy feedings (yay, I made it a full year) to milk.
You really love bath time too and you could stay in forever hanging out and splashing with your brothers. You do this little pokey thing with your finger when we are holding you. You just recently realized you have hair because you put your hands on your head and just rub them around. Really, you just have to be something special to be able to hold your own with your older brothers. You are one tough boy to not cry often at all. You only cry if they startle you by screaming really loud right next to you, if Gavin bites you or if Bradley wont let you go when you are trying to crawl away. Luckily, those things don’t happen too often and Hey, I would cry too! On the other side of that is you love to be entertained by your brothers and made to laugh. The laugh is irresistible of course with your little 4 teeth still in the front top. You definitely are taking your time with a lot of things but like I said, you can stay a baby for a while longer. Your birthday tomorrow is a wonderful event but it means you are one step closer to all grown up.
In honor of you going from being an infant to a toddler. I found this poem below that is so cool for all boys but I know you will fit the description as you grow and already are a “A job well done.” Thank you Lord for giving us this masterpiece, Easton!
God made the world out of His dreams
Of magic mountains, oceans and streams,
Prairies and plans and wooded land,
Then paused and thought “I need someone to stand
On top of mountains, to conquer the seas,
Explore the plains and climb the trees.
Someone to start out small and to grow,
Sturdy, strong as a tree…” And so,
He created boys, full of spirit and fun,
To explore and conquer, to romp and run.
With dirty faces and banged up chins,
With courageous hearts and boyish grins.
When He had completed the task He’d begun
He surely said “A job well done”.
Happy Birthday tomorrow to our bright blue eyes, curly red haired, fair skinned, Rolly Polly peanut, Bubbas, Beasty Easty, Beaston Easton, #1 third son, best baby brother that a family could ever dream of! we can’t wait to celebrate you even more tomorrow! The day you were born will always be a day to celebrate and cherish.
Love,
Mommy & Daddy
and
Gavin & Bradley
